Sure, scuffles are pretty common in hockey. If we went to a hockey game and didn’t see a fight, we’d want our money back!
But, how about some good old fashioned…biting?
That’s exactly what happened in the most recent Senators versus Buffalos game.
(The Senators is the team for which Carrie Underwood’s new boyfriend plays!)
In a first period scuffle, Senators’ forward Jarkko Ruutu totally bit Buffalos’ enforcer Andrew Peters’ gloved right thumb!
Crazy! We didn’t know hockey players even had teeth to bite with!
The replay footage shows Peters on top of Ruutu with Peters’ hand in his face. As the brawl continues, Ruutu chomps down on Peters. Peters recoils, visibly yelling, “He fucking bit me!” with a little bit of on ice dramatics to emphasize his point.
Unlike that, you know, other famous sports biter, this incident didn’t require stitches.
But it might require a rabies shot! You never know where those hockey players have been!
Ruutu claims he did not bite him, and didn’t get in trouble, but they put his victim on an unsportsmanlike time out for causing the ruckus in the first place!
Ruutu could make fast friends with a rabid Twilight fan!
