Honey Boo Boo fans can look forward to finally meeting Baby Kaitlyn this week!
The show’s season finale will feature the birth of the Shannon/Thompson/Bear clan’s newest member- and her little something extra.
We told you about Kaitlyn’s extra thumb after she was first born. So now that they’ve had a few weeks to think it over, does the family plan to have it fixed?
Mama June Shannon says:
“She may or may not ever get surgery to remove one of the thumbs. The doctor doesn├óΓé¼Γäót want to do anything right now because they don├óΓé¼Γäót know the full function of the other thumb or if they├óΓé¼Γäóre both connected.
They just have to wait and see. They don├óΓé¼Γäót want to do it too early, if they cut one off the other could have paralysis or it could make the other fingers not work, so they don├óΓé¼Γäót want to make any rash decisions.”
We understand there are medical concerns, but if it’s possible to remove the thumb, wouldn’t the family want that? To help Kaitlyn live a normal life, not looked on negatively for her abnormality? June says:
“She├óΓé¼Γäós just special; I would never make fun of her. That is not right. It makes her more unique and special to us. We don├óΓé¼Γäót even pay attention to it. We don├óΓé¼Γäót make a big deal about it.”
Well, good! It’s nice that they are making Kaitlyn feel comfortable in her own home! But what about the outside world? How will they react?
