Nurses prove to be heroes almost everyday!
But these nurses at the North Hill Hospital were heroes in a whole different sort of way!
When James Anderson‘s girlfriend Brandi had to be rushed to the hospital with contractions, the soon-to-be father was shocked and determined.
Shocked because the couple weren’t expecting the baby until March 4th. But when their plans changed, James Anderson became determined to get married to his lady love before she gave birth!
So he went up to the nurses and made an unusual request!
Here’s what nurse Ashleigh Campbell said:
“The dad came out and told us that he wanted to get married. At first, we didn’t think he meant now. Once he told us, ‘Yeah, we want to do it here,’ I think pretty much the general consensus was ‘Aww.’ ”
So the dad and the team of nurses went to work! The poppa zoomed off to a store to buy his soon-to-be-wife a ring while one of the nurses called her dad who just happened to be a preacher! What a lucky break!
The couple’s 6-year-old son was the ring bearer during the ceremony which according to the minister – was an epic event!
The minister said:
“People were making things ready to have this baby and everybody was like, ‘let’s get in our place and stand here.’ When we started this there was a calm that came over the room — a quietness — that came over the room. The best I can say was it was peace. You see this was something that was very special.”
Thirty minutes later — their baby was born!
A beautiful daughter named Janelle! And although she may not remember that day – we’re absolutely positive that everyone else in that room will!
