Heath Ledger died before the completion, but the team behind his last film pushed on and now the flick is complete.
The Hollywood Reporter says that director Terry Gilliam and the sales team behind The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus are now deciding on how to proceed with the film. At first, it was to go to the Cannes Film Festival for an industry screening, but now sales reps for the company are hoping to sell the film before the fest.
There is big money to be made here. Not only is it Heath Ledger’s last film, but it also stars tons of A-listers to fill in the gaps Ledger did not film. Those stars are Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell.
If a deal can be reached, it would mean that a Cannes screening would be a launchpad for a studio’s marketing campaign.
