Severed Human Head Found On Tourist Beach In Florida! WTF!

What should have been a relaxing trip to the beach turned into a gruesome nightmare for several Florida residents this week.

On Tuesday, a Key Biscayne beach employee made a shocking discovery after a strange object washed ashore just south of Miami Beach… And upon closer examination, the worker realized it was… a severed human head.

WTF!

The worker, who hasn’t been publicly identified, informed Key Biscayne police about the grisly finding, and they confirmed it was in fact what it appeared to be. The local PD got in touch with the larger Miami-Dade Police Department, who arrived at the scene at around 8:40 a.m. But this case will take a long time due to, well, a pretty small body of evidence.

As of now, the victim’s identity has not been uncovered, and it’s not even clear whether it was a male or female or what. However, the medical examiner’s office is working to identify both the victim and the cause of death. MDPD detective Andre Martin confirmed to People the worrisome finding is being investigated as a homicide — we mean, it is a severed head — but it’s not clear if it’s related to recent crime in the area. Martin said:

“At this point we’re not discounting any possibility. This could be an accident or missing person, it’s too early to tell the circumstances.”

We guess that’s true. As shocking as it is, this could be from a horrific boating accident or shark attack or… something. Oof.
