While American officials still haven’t given any solid confirmation yet, interim Libyan Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril announced to the press in Tripoli moments ago that Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi has in fact been killed.
New details from around the globe are surfacing about his death, with some saying that Moammar was briefly conscious after being shot by rebel forces. We’re told the rebels opened fire on him after he resisted capture, leaving them no choice but to react. We also hear that Gadhafi’s son, Mutassim, and his chief of intelligence, Abdullah al-Senussi, have been killed, according to Anees al-Sharif, spokesman for AbdelHakim Belhajj of the Tripoli military council.
Finally, gruesome images have been released that are apparently are of Gadhafi’s wounded and bloodied body after he was killed. They are very graphic and disturbing, so we’ve placed them after the jump for those who don’t have the stomach for them. Still, the pictures are pretty damaging evidence that he’s been killed though.
