IKEA Gets A Bit Greener

Furniture and home decor store IKEA is taking a step towards helping the environment.

The company will no longer sell incandescent light bulbs in all of its US and Canadian stores. Instead, they’ll be offering energy-efficient bulbs.

IKEA president Mike Ward reveals:

“Eliminating incandescents is just one simple way for IKEA customers to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gases.├óΓé¼┬¥

If you didn’t already know, compact fluorescent bulbs, or CFL, use up to 80% less energy and can last up to 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs.

Besides, most incandescent lights aren’t flattering anyway and not the best to apply your makeup under.
