In the wake of a gambling scandal involving Roger Federer, sports management company IMG has banned all employees from gambling on sports.
An excerpt of the memo reads, “given IMG’s increasing role in U.S. college sports over the last three years, it is appropriate to implement specific anti-gambling policies with respect to wagering on collegiate sporting events.”
The memo, sent by IMG’s Senior V.P. John Raleigh also states that the policy, “prohibits gambling on collegiate sports even where such activity would otherwise be legal.”
Those employees must be super upset about this! If there’s anyone who would want to bet on sports it would be people who work in sports!!
