Influencer Announces His Own Death With Powerful Pre-Recorded Video

Tanner Martin has sadly passed away. But he still managed to tell the world on his own terms.

If you haven’t ever heard the name, Tanner is a 30-year-old influencer who was diagnosed with colorectal cancer five years back. Just 25 years old. We cannot even imagine. Over the past five years, he’s been documenting the ups and downs of his fight, amassing over 600k followers on TikTok and nearly 500k on Instagram along the way.

His wife Shay Wright has faithfully been by his side throughout everything, and just last month the pair welcomed their first child together.

Against all odds, Tanner made it to 30 years old and got to see the birth of his daughter. But he’s sadly now lost his battle.

On Wednesday, Shay shared a pre-recorded video to her and Tanner’s IG account in which the influencer reveals his own death. He tells followers:

“Hey, it’s me Tanner. If you’re watching this, I am dead.”

He continues:

“Everyone, I had a heck of a life. I decided to make this video announcing my death because I saw someone did that like a year or so ago and I think it’s a good opportunity to get all your thoughts out. And then you can also be thoughtful about what your spouse or your partner might need, and she probably needs some time to grieve. So I wanted to make a video where she could just post it and you guys would know and she could take a break as long as she needed to from social media or whatever.”

The beloved TikToker continued:

“But you guys, thank you, seriously, for all that you do for me while I was here and all the support and love that you showed me and my little family. I would ask at this time if you could continue to offer prayers and stuff for my sweetheart Shay and my baby girl.”

Thankfully, he noted his family has “most stuff covered financially,” but noted “Shay can let you know if we need help or anything.” He went on:

“But honestly anything you guys can do for my family when I’m not here will be greatly appreciated. And you guys have already done so much, but just one last request from Tanner is if you could at least just remember them in your prayers. And if you have the ability, maybe if they need financial air or something.”

The late 30-year-old added:

“You guys, life was awesome. I really enjoyed it while I was here. Hopefully, I believe there’s something after this and I’m excited to meet those people.”

He then expressed excitement to see late family members in the “afterlife” before claiming:

“Death is scary, but it’s also like a new adventure.”

He concluded:

“I love you guys. And seriously, thanks again for all your support and helping to make the last years of my life here on Earth fun and enjoyable and helping me be comfortable. I love you guys. Be kind to each other, assume good intent in other people, and you guys will just have a happy life. Love you, see ya.”

What a powerful way to reclaim your end… Our hearts are with Tanner’s loved ones. Rest in peace.
