Alec Baldwin‘s daughter Ireland has chosen to enter the entertainment business.
Which means she’s got to have some thick skin.
Which Ireland obviously does.
But she’s also sensitive–and we mean that in a good way!
The aspiring model wrote a long letter on her Tumblr for all the haters out there who still like to bring up the infamous voicemail incident that her father left her mother quite a long time ago.
Here’s what she said:
“Just like almost all of you, my Dad has made some mistakes in the past. He has spoken out of place, he has let his temper get the best of him, and he has reacted towards things in ways he shouldn├óΓé¼Γäót have. I get hateful replies and threats regarding mistakes of my Dad├óΓé¼Γäós past. This isn├óΓé¼Γäót fair. I had nothing to do with anything that happened back then, so I don├óΓé¼Γäót fully understand why I am being targeted. More importantly, my Dad has moved on. He recognized that he needed to change, so he made changes. He is now healthy, happily married with a baby on the way. He moved on, so why can├óΓé¼Γäót you?”
It certainly was a long time ago!
And because she has a career in modeling now, Ireland is also upset that peeps keep calling her fat and ugly.
WTF??
The 17-year-old beauty said:
“Of course I get those comments about how I am too fat to model, how I am not model material, how I am an unattractive girl, how I am too tall, etc. I understand. I don’t look as glamourous as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley when leaving the gym. I’m actually really sweaty. Like, really sweaty. I understand that I am not a size .008.
What I don’t fully understand is, what is the good in commenting on a photo of a 17-year-old girl and calling her fat, ugly, etc.? Is that helping you in some way? I’m confused…putting that out there is hateful and unhealthy. If you don’t have a complimentary thing to say about someone, keep it to yourself…It’s bad energy being put out there!
I have battled many different struggles with self-esteem and body image issues. Modeling can really help you feel beautiful!”
Hopefully this will make some of her haters stop although it is doubtful it will deter all of them.
But if we were Ireland, we’d just remember that there’s no way to please every one in life.
So as long as you can go to bed feeling good about yourself – it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks!!!
