Cathal Pendred, an alumnus of The Ultimate Fighter 19, is an Irish MMA star.
But he’s more than just a ripped, hunky hunk of man. He’s a friend to animals everywhere!
Cathal was out and about in Co Clare, Ireland when he noticed a young, injured dolphin swimming near the shoreline.
He saw it struggling and couldn’t just leave it there, so he sprang into action!
He ran out into the ocean and picked up the poor baby!
Sharing a super cute pic (above), he wrote:
“I just spent an hour in the sea at Doonbeg trying to save a baby dolphin. He was very hurt but alive and well now!”
Cradling it in his muscly arms, he walked it into deeper water, so it could swim away into the ocean.
He’s such a sweetheart! Those same hands that can smash faces, can also gently carry a baby dolphin!
Sadly, he later tweeted:
Sad news: The Irish Whale & Dolphin Group have said that the young dolphin washed up in Doonbeg again last night.
I tried my best.

Oh no!! That poor baby!
At least he tried! That baby dolphin felt a loving, compassionate touch before he died.
What’s with Irish animals dying lately???
Way to try, Cathal. We’re heartbroken the dolphin didn’t make it.
