Uh oh!
Well that is going to hurt its box-office numbers. (Except not at all!)
Because the studio decided to rush release Iron Man 2 overseas before the flick made it to theaters here in the U.S., sources are reporting that pirated copies of the superhero epic are already online for people to download.
If you are waiting to see Paramount flip its crazy on the Internet, you’re wasting your time. The studio released a statement, saying that the piracy was “disrespectful,” but said and did nothing more.
Perhaps that is because they realize, as we do, that fans of the franchise want to see their smokeshow superhero fly across the big screen, not the little one and certainly not off someone’s dinky camcorder.
If you give the people IMAX, they will still come. No doubt Iron Man will take the top of the box office this weekend, no problem.
