Oh no!
Golden Girl Rue McClanahan has suffered a stroke.
The 75 year old collapsed while she was recovering from bypass surgery a week before.
Her husband Morrow Wilson says that once doctors removed the blood clot that caused the stroke, she had been struggling with her speech and walking. But after remaining in ICU for two weeks she went into a rehab center and is now currently in a nursing facility.
Wilson says:
“She can understand what you are saying in conversation, but still has some trouble speaking. Her speech is slower than it once was and she hasn’t completely recovered on the right side of her body. She’s going to require a lot more physical and speech therapy – but at least it’s not like I stay awake at nights any more thinking that Rue is going to die.”
How awful! But we’re glad to here she’s making progress.
We wish Rue a speedy recovery!
