A Malawai court on Wednesday finally approved Madonna‘s adoption of little David.
She’s his mommy – for good!
A lawyer for her Madgesty has released a statement, saying, “We are very happy with what the judge has ruled. It is a positive and beautiful judgment that will have an impact on Malawi’s adoption laws.”
The adoption has been very controversial, with critics accusing the government of skirting laws that ban non-residents from adopting children in Malawi, which has been badly hit by an AIDS epidemic that has left more than 1 million orphans.
Many people and groups opposed the adoption, but in the end, even David’s biological father wanted Madonna to be able to legally care for the child.
