And although most have moved on – Jada Pinkett-Smith is still mad that it was ever an issue in the first place!
The mother of Willow Smith recently was talking to the website Net-a-Porter when the controversial photo, which featured the 13-year-old on a bed with the 20-year-old shirtless former Hannah Montana star Moises Arias, was brought up again.
Here’s what Jada said about that:
“Just don’t pollute something that’s not dirty. It’s really tough. I feel like the connection to the value of women on a bigger scale has decreased tremendously. Even though you look and go, ├óΓé¼╦£Women have so many opportunities,’ it’s like, ├óΓé¼╦£Yeah, but at what cost?’ Are women valued for being women, or are women valued when they have more masculine qualities? Men and women encompass both female and masculine energies, but it seems like when the feminine is present, it’s not respected.”
Jada also revealed what she wishes for her children, and how she tries to let them be themselves without TOO much interference from her. She said:
“I want my kids to be happy and I want them to be themselves. I was saying to a friend the other day, ├óΓé¼╦£Remember, our kids are not us.’ They’re not. Sometimes we’re trying to fix things that happened to us or projecting [onto them], and that’s a terrible, terrible trap.”
Seems like Jada has got everything under control!
It also definitely appears that Jada has cooled down from her initial anger over the controversy surrounding the photos, but it sounds like she’ll never forget the backlash her daughter was subjected to.
Although one thing we are pretty sure of is that Moises Arias won’t be taking any more shirtless photos with the Smith family anytime soon!
