Jaden Smith just wants to be a normal human.
But alas, he’s cursed to be a celebuspawn and it’s not always as great as it’s cracked up to be.
In a new interview with Dazed, the 20-year-old lamented about his struggles to fit into normal life after growing up in the spotlight and household of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.

Reflecting on how he didn’t spend much time with “normal people” growing up, the rapper and Twit-losopher admitted that people treated him so differently over the years that he began to question if he was even a “normal human.”
He dished:
“People treat me like I’m not a normal human so much, that you start to believe it, like, ‘Am I not a normal human?’ I didn’t always get to hang out with normal people when I was young. So being older and being able to hang out with the big kids and play with normal people is fun.”
Awwww, Jaden.
No… no, you’re not.
Thankfully, the artist has been able to live somewhat a normal life in the skate park — once the other skaters forget he’s Jaden fucking Smith, of course:
“When I go to skate parks, people are like, ‘Oh shit, is that Jaden Smith?’ for about the first five minutes. Then after that, it’s totally fine and I’m another skater.”
In fact, the Skate Kitchen star says he’d live out his days as just another skater if he didn’t have other celebrity obligations:
“If I wasn’t famous and didn’t have all this shit going on, and I didn’t have to fly to all these different places all the time, I would just be here with these guys, every day just skating. That would be my vibe.”
Sounds… too normal, if you ask us!
