UPDATE, 10:42 a.m. PT — Well, here comes the walk back…
As you can see (below), Jake Paul has officially addressed his presence at the looting of that Scottsdale, Arizona mall on Saturday night with a full message on Twitter, via his phone’s Notes app:

Hmmm… Are you buying his statement here, or are you skeptical about the whole thing?
Either way, doesn’t it seem a little weird to hit up the protests for vlog content?! Journalists are one thing, of course, but Team 10?? Uhhh…
Seriously, Jake Paul?!
The multi-millionaire viral YouTube star (and highly controversial figure, to be sure) was outed as being among a group that was allegedly looting a mall in Scottsdale, Arizona late Saturday night. It’s unclear whether he was there to film, or participate, or what, but his presence is generating a LOT of discussion on social media.
As you can see (below), social media videos from the scene at Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale, Arizona show Paul with what appears to be a videographer and some others around him, amid a pack of other people:
i repeat FUCK JAKE PAUL he’s a millionaire looting while people are outside protesting, getting shot with rubber bullets, teargas, beat by cops etc. pic.twitter.com/qgNavkNZwy

Wow!! What a crazy scene down there in Scottsdale…
It’s unclear whether Paul was participating in the alleged looting or not, or whether he was simply out there to see it for himself — or even possibly film it for his YouTube channel. He hasn’t tweeted or posted on Instagram about any of the protests, or the apparent looting, as of publication of this post on Sunday morning.
Regardless, just his very presence at the mall has a lot of people feeling a LOT of different ways about it.
One Twitter user wrote (below):
“jake paul has a 19 million dollar net worth and a giant platform consisting of mainly kids, and he’s out here looting whilst others get teargassed and beat? f**k off he really isn’t s**t”
Another social media user added more, saying:
“Literal black people are getting arrested for looting during these protests but jake Paul a white man is posting him breaking In fashion square all over social media and nothing’s being done???? WHY???”
And a third person added more:
“i am so fucking angry abt scottsdale fashion square being looted. it was not part of BLM phx metro (black-led + protesting downtown). jake paul + his other rich white friends are capitalizing off of this for attention + notoriety while doing nothing to support the actual movement”
Of course, the initial daytime protests across the country on Saturday were peaceful and entirely law-abiding. As you no doubt know, they were organized in response to the death of George Floyd, a black man in Minneapolis, who died last week while being detained the the city’s police department when an officer was caught on video kneeling on Floyd’s neck for several minutes. That officer has since been arrested and charged with murder.
What do U guys think about Jake Paul’s presence at the protests — and really, later, at the alleged mall looting, y’all? Does it help anybody to have a high-profile person like that there? Or is he a distraction? What do U think about him showing up on social media like that?!
Sound OFF about all of it down in the comments (below)…
