Come on, Jaleel! You starred in Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus last year! We find it hard to believe that you’re not missing those Family Matters days!
During a recent interview, the new host of SyFy’s Total Blackout Jaleel White opened up about his Steve Urkel days, and had the following to say about them:
“I don’t [miss playing Urkel]. I really don’t. I’m not trying to get away from it or anything like that, but I don’t miss the role at all — really. I just want to work. I want my daughter to say, ‘I know what Daddy does,’ not ‘what Daddy did.”
And more from Jaleel on his reinvigorated passion for acting:
“I’m very versatile, but somehow I didn’t earn the tag of being called a versatile actor. I’m still chasing that one Vanity Fair tag that says, ‘This guy’s a versatile actor.’ I accept it. It’s fine. But for me, it’s like what do I have to do to get that [acknowledgement]?”
“I just want people to know I haven’t gone anywhere. The passion was gone for awhile, but I’ve got my mojo back.”
We hear ya, Jaleel, but we’re not 100% sure if hosting a game show on SyFy is going to show the world that you’re a versatile actor! Just sayin’!
