James Franco is making the press rounds.
As we previously reported, earlier this week, The Disaster Artist actor stopped by Stephen Colbert‘s The Late Show and vehemently denied the sexual misconduct allegations that were recently brought against him on Twitter. Franco essentially repeated this entire appearance, only this time, he sat down and discussed the controversy on Seth Meyers‘ Late Night.

ICYMI, during Sunday’s telecast of the Golden Globes, actress Ally Sheedy and countless others took to social media to drag James for wearing a Time’s Up pin. Many took issue with James supporting the women’s rights movement as, in 2014, the Freaks & Geeks alum attempted to pickup a 17-year-old via the internet. The conversation took a darker turn when a few women spoke out and accused the A-lister of being sexually inappropriate with them.
Like he noted on The Late Show, Franco reiterated that the allegations made “were not accurate.” He shared with Seth:
“I was sent a couple of the tweets. So yeah, I did read them. I haven’t responded. The ones I read were not accurate, but one of the things that I’ve learned is that this is a conversation that obviously needs to be had. There are people, women and others, who have not been a part of this conversation. I truly believe, and why I was wearing the pin, is that they need to be a part of this conversation. I support them.”
We have a feeling the 39-year-old’s publicist had something to do with THAT answer. When asked about The Breakfast Club star’s online shade, James once again acted baffled by the whole situation. The controversial filmmaker continued:
“I had a great relationship with her. She took the tweet down. I don’t know. I really don’t… I don’t know. It was so shocking. I don’t know. I just…I guess I’m just letting it be.”
Again, just because someone deleted a tweet, doesn’t mean they don’t still stand by what they said. Perhaps Sheedy was just afraid of getting sued???
Meyers then asked Seth Rogen‘s bestie if he had taken a moment to “look back and question” his past behavior amid the accusations. Franco relayed:
“I think what I really learned, and being here this week, and that show that we were [at]├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥it was so powerful in there. Like I said, there are stories that need to get out. There are people that need to be heard. I have my own side of this story, but I believe in these people that have been underrepresented getting their stories out enough that I will hold back things that I could say just because I believe in that much. If I have to take a knock because I’m not going to try and actively refute things, then I will, because I believe in it that much.”
WAIT. WHAT? Did James just label himself martyr??
