James Handy‘s horrible cause of death has been confirmed by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner.
As you know, the 81-year-old was brutally murdered earlier this month, and his girlfriend’s son was arrested following the attack. It’s been reported James was fatally stabbed, which the Medical Examiner’s office has now confirmed.
The report states Top Gun actor died from stab wounds on his torso, but they found another shocking piece to the puzzle during their examination. They determined James also died of a “neck compression,” which is also known as cervical myelopathy.

The Cleveland Clinic defines the condition as “spinal cord compression in your cervical spine or neck,” which can occur naturally with aging — or it can be due to abnormal pressure on the neck such as squeezing.
This is all just so devastating to hear. We hope James gets the justice he deserves. Our heart continues to be with all who loved him.
