If you are a fan of X-Men, you undoubtedly believe that Patrick Stewart was an inspired choice to play Professor Charles Xavier in the original movies. But now that things are taking a turn towards the past, James McAvoy is stepping in to play a younger and seksier version of the Professor.
And he can’t wait to get started! (Us too!)
While at the Toronto Film Festival, James was asked what fans can expect from his portrayal of the infamous Professor X. For starters, James admits that he won’t be bald or paralyzed, but that both trademark attributes of the character will be explained. That seems fine by James, as he is looking forward to portraying the journey most of all. He explains:
“I think the fun about these films, when you go back and you either reboot or do a prequel, is you get to see how people became who they are. That means that you have to do them differently and by the end of the movie you have to do them the same way. The interesting journey is what happens to them, what changes them, what makes them evolve ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ not just mutate, but emotionally and psychologically evolve…I would suggest by the end of the movie and the start of the next movie, it’ll be more like what Patrick does.”
The next movie? Are you all for a sequel to the prequel, James! That would be pretty sweet!
We’re really looking forward to see thing all come together.
How about U?
