Jamie Lee Curtis is reflecting on the deaths of her dear friends Rob and Michele Reiner.
On the IMO podcast, Jamie got choked up while telling host Michelle Obama about how Rob and Michele were killed the same day as her daughter Annie Guest‘s birthday:
“Rob and Michelle are her godparents and they died on her birthday. And, my beautiful daughter, who loved them as we all did… [She] managed to be able to metabolize that grief and sadness.”

She acknowledged their own grief as “close friends” will never compare to that of Rob and Michele’s own children, but said they’re still having their own mourning period.
The 67-year-old actress added that just a week later, Annie gave birth to her own son, leaving Jamie Lee in a complicated state of high highs and low lows:
“And then my daughter and her husband brought their son to this world a week later. Life on life’s harshest terms and life on life most beautiful terms.”
