Tonight is Janelle Monae‘s night, apparently!
The performer opened up the Oscars on Sunday evening with a stunning little medley number honoring some of the best films of the year, and we were surprised, pleased, and LOVING it!!
Along with some help from Billy Porter — and a nice assist from Tom Hanks himself, at least in playing off the Mr. Rogers actor for a bit — Monae stunned the audience and changed tones (and outfits) several times in her phenomenal opening number! Such an original, awesome way to open up the show!!!
