We missed seeing January Jones in a beautiful dress at the Emmys Sunday night. But she had a very good reason to not attend the show. She was at home with her less-than-a-week-old baby boy, Xander Dane (Last name still unknown).
The rest of the Mad Men cast and crew were on hand at the show though (grabbing their Best Drama award) and had updates on how the new mom was doing.
Costume designer Janie Bryant said:
“I’m so happy for her. I haven’t seen [Xander] yet — we’ve been texting!
[She] seems wonderfully happy. She is a loving, wonderful, hilarious girl who is an amazing wit and character. I think she’s one of the best!”
Meanwhile, Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner was worried that her not being at the awards was going to jinx the show! He said:
“She’s home with her baby. Her baby had his fingers crossed, she told me that! She said it was going to be really weird not being here.
I had a horrible superstition her not being here was going to bad for us — so I told her to come anyway but she didn’t!”
Well, good thing she didn’t come because Mad Men ended up winning the best award anyway!
