January Jones Gets REAL About Being A Single Parent: 'I Just Don't Feel I Need A Partner'

january jones talks single parenting
January Jones is perfectly happy being a single mom.
During a recent interview with Red magazine, the Mad Men alum opened up about her life with her 5-year-old son, named Xander. Not only did Miz Jones relocate her little family to Topanga Canyon, CA a few years ago, but she did it all alone too.
As you may recall, January became pregnant in 2011 after filming X-Men: First Class and has since REFUSED to discuss the identity of her son’s father. Obviously there was a lot of speculation over who little Xander’s poppa might be, so the blonde stunner abandoned their Silverlake home surrounded by paparazzi for a quieter life.

The 38-year-old shared:

“It’s like in a Spielberg movie. The adults have more drinks and the kids are dirtier├óΓé¼┬ª but it’s safe. Photographers don’t follow us up there, so Xander has a pretty normal life now.”

And while Jones jokes her son is surrounded by strong women “too much,” the TV starlet revealed young Xander has access to plenty of male role models. She continued:

“…Xander has a lot of bro time with the neighbor dads and my dad, who is super young. It’s good to have strong women around a man. To teach him to respect women. He doesn’t have a male person in his life saying ‘don’t cry’ or ├óΓé¼╦£you throw like a girl’. All those shitty things dads accidentally do.”

Hmmm, very inneresting. Not to mention, January isn’t rushing to find Xander a step-father as she added:

“People want to set me up all the time and I’m like, ├óΓé¼╦£No way.’ If I meet someone and we go out, then fine, but I’m not going to go look├óΓé¼┬ª”

Fair, fair. Now January hasn’t ruled out finding a partner altogether. The potential beau would just have to live up to her expectations. The Last Man On Earth star noted:

“I just don’t feel I need a partner. Do I want one? Maybe. But I don’t feel unhappy or lonely. It would have to be someone so amazing that I would want to make room. Someone who would contribute to my happiness and not take away from it. I realize I have very high expectations and will probably have to compromise ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ but my life is so full. It’s not like, ‘Aww, I wish I had a man.’ After I had Xander, I went on a couple of dates and I was like, ├óΓé¼╦£I’d rather be at home sleeping, or watching TV or hanging out with my kid.'”

Just because the red carpet maven isn’t lonely, that doesn’t mean she hasn’t dealt with her fair share of struggles as a single parent. In regards to being both good cop AND bad cop, the A-lister relayed:

“I don’t want to be bad cop. But to have his respect, I have to be both. I mean, I’m an emotionally immature person. I’m an actor for God’s sake. I see myself behaving like a child all the time.”

Girl, we get that. But hey, January is undoubtedly one of Tinseltown’s best moms!
