Sad news for Japanese model Hikari Yamaguchi.
Hikari is the daughter of singers Junichi Nitta and Hiroe Jun and has appeared in modeling gigs and even a few acting jobs.
The 19-year-old soon went from modeling and became one of the hosts, and pin-up girls, of Xbox Japan’s Inside Xbox program.
But last month, the petite model suffered a horrible accident when she slipped on the balcony of her home. The injury resulted in an injured cervical vertebrate and caused her to be paralyzed from her lower body down.
How tragic!
And in an odd twist, some Japanese tabloid magazines are reporting that the “accident” was actually an attempt to commit suicide. Her reps are denying the claims though.
As for Hikari’s recuperation, she’s currently in rehab and her upcoming appearances have been cancelled.
So sad.
