At least he’s finally admitted it.
As we previously expected, Jared Loughner pled guilty to shooting and killing six people in Tuscon last year as part of an agreement allowing him to avoid the death penalty.
Loughner accepted guilt on 19 criminal counts in a plea agreement, including attempted assassination of former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, the first degree murder of two federal employees, and the attempted murder of two other federal employees.
Gabby and her husband Mark Kelly are content with Loughner’s plea.
Mark said:
“We don’t speak for all of the victims or their families, but Gabby and I are satisfied with this plea agreement. The pain and loss caused by the events of January 8, 2011 are incalculable. Avoiding a trial will allow us├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥and we hope the whole Southern Arizona community├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥to continue with our recovery and move forward with our lives.”
If convicted, Loughner is expected to be sentenced to life in prison.
No one can ever undo the pain and suffering the shooter inflicted upon the six killed, the 13 injured, and all of their surrounding victims and their loved.
Hopefully this trial will reach a speedy conclusion and healing will begin for all parties involved.
