Congrats, Mike Wallace! You win the award for First Insensitive And Homophobic Tweet after Jason Collins revealed to the world that he’s gay!
Regardless if they play different sports, this is EXACTLY why people haven’t been strong enough to come out until now!
Here’s what Mike Wallace of the Miami Dolphins had to say now that Jason is the first gay male athlete out and proud as a current major professional sports player (for the NBA):

Ugh, and it wasn’t even clever! Now he’s apologizing for it, though it doesn’t sound like a real apology — probably because it’s only happening because everyone is throwing shade at him for being ignorant:
“Never said anything was right or wrong I just said I don’t understand!! Deeply sorry for anyone that I offended.”
At your age, Mike, how do you not understand that some people are gay while others are not, and that there are people out there that like different things than you do?
We’re sure this isn’t the last awful tweet from the world about it, but we sure are glad there are so many positive ones that outshine them!!
