NBA player Jason Collins has done something amazing for himself AND the sports community: he has come out as a gay man, proud and brave!
It’s a very public way of handling a very personal and private situation, but it needed to be done both so he could live without hiding, and so that maybe others like him didn’t have to hide in sports anymore either!
In his first sit-down interview (above), Jason gets understandably emotional and has some very eloquent things to say that he hadn’t already in the self-penned article he wrote for Sports Illustrated!
