Someone isn’t being honest here!
Jason Patric is embroiled in a bitter feud with his baby momma Danielle Schreiber over his parenting rights to her son Gus.
While the woman he was in a relationship with for over ten years has denied Jason the rights to see the 4-year-old boy, Jason claims her reasons for doing so are NOT correct!
Danielle says she did use Jason’s sperm to become pregnant through in vitro fertilization, but they had an agreement he would have nothing to do with the child’s life.
However, Jason Patric is calling B.S. on her! He says they only used in vitro fertilization because they couldn’t conceive a child naturally!
He said:
“I was a willing co-parent and still am. Danielle and I tried to conceive a child for three years. The only reason we did in vitro fertilization is because she could not conceive naturally. That does not make me a donor.”
Danielle has said:
“When Jason offered me his sperm, it was under the condition that his donation never be made public and that he would not be a father to the child. I chose to use a known donor over a stranger, but only after I knew the law would protect my ability to make the best decisions for my son.”
Jason tried to fight for his paternal rights when his ex began not allowing him visits with her or her son anymore, but a judge ruled that since he was a donor, California law made it that he wasn’t the natural father.
While Jason tries to appeal the ruling, he has created Stand Up for Gus which raises funds for awareness of parental alienation. He’s also talked about the issue whenever he’s had a chance!
Although that might change soon since his ex and her lawyers have recently filed a motion that would bar Jason from talking about these personal matters in such a public arena.
For Jason though, he finds it VERY important that he be able to keep talking about his son. Especially if he loses his appeal – he wants his child to have evidence that he did not abandon him.
He said:
“I had a loving relationship with my son and it’s gone now. Danielle is completely erasing me from my child’s life. I’m leaving a public trail so he’ll know I did everything I could to be with him, that he wasn’t abandoned.”
We kind of wish these two could work out an arrangement of some sorts where Jason Patric doesn’t feel completely isolated from the kid, but isn’t really a big part of his life.
It’s obvious that the guy wants to be there for the boy. Cutting him off completely is making him super sad!
