Boo! We bet this would have been a really great show!
Jay-Z was slated to perform above the marquee at the Ed Sullivan Theater for The Late Show With David Letterman Monday, but the Mayor is having the show cancel the gig.
On the heels of the chaos that was Drake’s free gig at South Street Seaport, the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting is fearful to let the show proceed as planned. Originally, the show was meant to be a secret, but word leaked yesterday and the Mayor’s office is using that as the excuse to cancel the performance. A rep from the office said:
“Many permits are granted on the condition that the event is not made public beforehand for capacity and security reasons. This event was made public.”
Damn! Jay would have totally killed it too!
Thanks a lot, Drake! (And Hanson too!!!)
