Guns don’t kill people, but the crazy people who have access to them do! So yeah, tragedies like this would greatly be prevented if gun control was more strict. End of story.
Lori Moore and her new boyfriend, Lance Griffel, showed up to her 15-year high school reunion for East Peoria High class of 1999 at crowded Fifth Quarter Sports Bar and Pizzeria when the worst happened.
Her ex-husband, Jason Moore, entered the bar around 8 pm that night, pulled out a gun, and shot his ex-wife and her boyfriend in the head killing them both.
So sad, and so needless.
Luckily for the remaining patrons, and off-duty FBI agent happened to be in the bar at the time. He drew his gun and shot Jason in the head. We don’t want to even think what would further damage he could have done if the officer had not been there at the scene.
What’s even sadder is that Lori and Jason had a son, Kaydin, and a daughter, Callie together! Basically, these kids lost their mother and father in one night thanks to such reckless violence.
How many more of these awful tragedies have to occur before some more meaningful legislation is passed on gun control?
