Jenni “JWoww” Farley is opening up about the amazing progress her son Greyson has made in the months following his autism diagnosis.

In a video update posted to the MTV personality’s YouTube channel, the momma of two details the advances he has made thanks to early intervention treatments. Prior to his diagnosis, Farley shared with followers her son was non-verbal and had difficulty understanding words.

The Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star explains how his increased time in treatment with We Care Autism receiving Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy has made a positive impact:

“Since he started with We Care Autism ABA services, [it] has been one hell of an experience … He used to have [ABA therapy for] two-to-three hours, three times a week, and he would also do speech and OT [occupational therapy] at a local hospital.”

Jenni adds she had to fight with her insurance company “to get the best of the best … for Greyson,” but it has paid off:

“But over time, and recently, we got approved for 30 hours a week for ABA, which is huge ’cause 30 hours of ABA has been a game-changer. Not only that, but Greyson goes to preschool three hours a day, five days a week and his ABA therapist Steph goes there for two hours a day with him to really help him transition into the everyday world with people and little kids his own age.”

The 33-year-old reveals she and his therapists have worked out a reward system for the three-year-old when he completes tasks or follows directions:

“He has two types of presents when he does something well. Obviously, Greyson loves YouTube, like a majority of kids out there, so he gets a couple seconds of YouTube. And if he goes potty, he requests — a lot of times — a circle, which is a coin and he’s allowed a piece of gum out of his gumball machine.”

While Miz Farley is proud of the progress he’s made so far, she’s also looking forward to what else he will continue to accomplish in the future:

“I can’t wait to show you [his progress] by Christmas. He should have even more of an update ’cause of how fast he’s been shooting from the hip. I feel like our next goal will be fully potty trained, [counting from] one through 20 on his own, maybe more.”
