Ugh. Were Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux doomed from the start?
As we are still waiting on word to hear if the Friends alum and the 46-year-old actor were even legally married in the first place, an insider tells People the longtime couple’s relationship was never going to last for of a number of reasons… one being the long distance.

The source explains:
“Ever since they became serious, the living issue often made them bicker. It was always hard for Jen to understand why Justin didn’t like, or at least could learn to like L.A., when she was in L.A.”
The two ended up spending more and more time apart:
“With Jen feeling so strongly about living in L.A. and disliking N.Y.C. so much, she wanted Justin to be happy and that’s why she agreed that he should spend so much time in N.Y.C.”
And even though they kept up the gig for a while, “one wonders why they got married in the first place” because “nothing really changed” after the pair tied the knot in their casual wedding back in August of 2015. As you may remember, they soon after went on a honeymoon in Bora Bora with friends such as Courteney Cox, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jason Bateman in tow.
The insider concludes that getting married “never seemed that important” to them:
“When they finally did start to plan it seriously, it was more like ├óΓé¼╦£Let’s have a great party with all of our friends and go on a fun trip.’ They had the same issues before they got married as caused them to split.”
Eep. Marriage is never a problem solver.
