As you surely saw, on Thursday, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux announced their separation. While many were busy mourning the failed relationship on Twitter, others began wondering about what’s to come for the now former flames. Specifically, what will happen to Miz Aniston’s MASSIVE fortune??

Thankfully, we’ve since learned that Jennifer’s assets — Friends money included — are protected by an “ironclad prenup.” Phew!!
An insider spilled to Us Weekly:
“Jennifer has an ironclad prenup with Justin. It would be very hard for Justin to contest it. The prenup talks before the marriage were long and intense. Jen’s assets and Friends fortune are protected.”
Well that’s certainly good news for the 49-year-old! Although Jennifer and Justin were prepared for a split, it sounds like they really tried to save their marriage.
Just after Christmas, Aniston and Theroux jetted off to Mexico in an attempt to save their marriage away from the limelight. The Wanderlust costars joined Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka in Cabo San Lucas, but had to be convinced to go on the getaway.
A different tipster told the mag:
“Jason Bateman’s wife convinced Justin to go to Cabo. She has been the mediator in recent months, trying to get Jen and Justin to work through their problems and save their marriage. The Cabo trip was a make or break vacation for Jen and Justin. They went away with their friends hoping to have fun and work on it.”
It’s said the last time Jen and Justin were photographed together was on this specific vacation on January 1. However, the pair didn’t spend much time together in Mexico, as the source added:
“The guys and girls hung out separately in Mexico. It didn’t work.”
What a bummer.
Nonetheless, there have been several warning signs about the twosome’s 2018 separation. Not only has Aniston been MIA from Theroux’s NYC residence for MONTHS, Theroux was notably absent from his wife’s recent birthday bash (below).

Reports have indicated that Jennifer and Justin aren’t rushing to file divorce paperwork, but that isn’t because there is hope for the marriage. In reality, gossip states the exes are letting their business managers work on a settlement and then they’ll file legal documents in court.
We just hope they’re doing what’s best for them. *Sigh*
