Here’s a pre back-to-school trip gone awry!
Jennifer Garner took her oldest daughter Violet kayaking on Monday for a mommy-daughter getaway — but the 13 Going On 30 star admits that things almost took a turn for the worse when the two got lost in the waters of Stockholm, Sweden.

Garner explains it all in the caption of her Instagram post (below):
On a pre-middle-school sneak away with my eldest… Did I get us lost in a kayak? Yes. Did we paddle as hard as we could for 100 hours and end up in a shipping lane? I’m afraid so. 😬 Did we have to be rescued? Yup. #thesunsetwasabigupside #shenevercomplained #thankyoumattias #welovedyousweden 🇸🇪 . . . 📸: Mattias from @langholmenkajakA post shared by Jennifer Garner (@jennifer.garner) on Aug 6, 2018 at 12:17pm PDT
They ended up in a shipping lane? Whoa, scary!!
Thankfully, a photographer and good Samaritan by the name of Mattias Persson came to their rescue. The momma gave a shout-out to Persson on her IG Story (below), thanking him for his heroic efforts:

We’re glad these two are okay! Plus, that Swedish sunset looked amazing, so cheers to that #bigupside!
