We knew that Jennifer Lawrence wanted to take a break from acting after filming the two-part Mockingjay finale to the Hunger Games series, but a whole year? This cloud playbook doesn’t seem like it has a silver lining!
J.Law previously mentioned that she was going to turn off her phone for a year, which we guessed meant she’d be taking some time off, but Katniss was not exaggerating. She’s taking her final bow (and arrow) for an entire Earth’s orbit around the sun.
Well, if Anne Hathaway can do it, so can you!
In a recent interview, Harvey Weinstein confirmed her 12-month hiatus, which will be like a prison sentence for all of us who need J.Law like Rosalyn needs rotten nail polish:
“She’s going to have a long break for a year where she won’t do anything. It’s been non-stop for her and she deserves a rest. Jennifer is too nice and will do people favors and agrees to do a movie like American Hustle when she could have had a rest. She signed on to do Hunger Games when she was young and wouldn’t have realized how much it would dominate her life. But she’s a professional and always will be.”
Although this news makes us want to stare into a camera with full on rage like Miz Everdeen did at the end of Catching Fire, we respect that hard work deserves relaxation.
After Mockingjay finishes, we hope she moves into her own personal Victors’ Village. Enjoy yourself, gurl!
