Jennifer Lopez‘s new show is more than just a sitcom, it’s a message of acceptance and love!
The Fosters — the 43-year-old entertainer, mother, and (suddenly) TV exec’s new ABC Family drama — premieres next Monday and she couldn’t be more proud.
In the upcoming series celebrating non-traditional families, two moms raise a multi-ethnic family filled with both biological and foster children.
J.Lo can relate to living a life less ordinary!
She admitted:
“I am a non-traditional family. Me being a single mom, their dad doesn’t live at home with them. They have three stepbrothers from two other moms . . . that’s not traditional… Do I want my children to feel weird about that? No I don’t. So putting a show like this one to me is, look, there is no perfect [of] what family is supposed to be.”
Well said, gurl!
Jenny from the Block thinks it’s OK her marriages didn’t work out. In her opinion, a family need — above all else — love.
And hers has an abundance!
She continued:
“It’s about love and that’s what I constantly remind myself of because I kind of let society get inside my head, ‘Oh, it shouldn’t be like this. I did this, I did that. I failed.’ And it’s like, no. They’re happy, they’re healthy, they’re loved more than anything in the world and they’re going to be fine. I want them to know that.”
