Jennifer Love Hewitt is remembering Gene Hackman fondly.
With the deeply sad news the Superman actor was found dead in his Santa Fe, New Mexico home alongside his wife Betsy Arakawa and their dog, fans and friends around the world are doing their best to come to grips with the news… And Jennifer is right there with them.
On Thursday, the Ghost Whisperer star shared her condolences for the late 95-year-old, with whom she starred in the underrated 2001 comedy Heartbreakers, alongside Sigourney Weaver. In a statement to E! News, she remarked:
“I was one of many lucky enough to work with Gene Hackman. He was light and talent and goodness. We will all miss you.”
Such sweet words. He was so loved! That’s what makes his mysterious passing so upsetting.
Gene and his wife’s deaths are officially being treated as “suspicious” now after a carbon monoxide gas leak was tentatively ruled out. Our hearts are broken for their loved ones, and for Gene’s many fans and admirers. Rest in peace.
