Sandusky Trial: Coaches Come To His Defense

After the prosecution paraded several victims onto the stand and moved the jury to tears at times with their testimony, it’s finally the defense’s turn.
The first defense witness has been called in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse trial: a retired member of Penn State’s coaching staff who was called as a character witness.
He said he “never saw anything inappropriate” between Sandusky and the kids he showered with.
He even said that, while he didn’t do it at Penn State, he occasionally would shower at the YMCA where young boys were also showering as well.
He claimed that it was a normal thing in sports culture for men of all ages to shower together.
Another former assistant coach was called to the stand as a character witness and said Sandusky had an “exemplary, top-notch” reputation.
Just because someone is known for something (like football coaching skills) doesn’t mean that they’re not a serial predator in their off time.
