His name’s “Paulie” though. World of difference, right?!
Apparently not, since DJ Paulie of South Windsor, Connecticut is suing the Jersey Shore DJ Pauly D star for $4 MILLION dollah dollah bills because the reality star for allegedly ruined his business. People are getting their names all confussled and Paulie is losing business because Pauly is to wild! The disgruntle disc jockey explained to a local newspaper:
“I’ve prided myself in being G-rated. Jersey Shore is hardly family entertainment. The show is hurting my business. It’s ruining my reputation. I’ve even had death threats.”
Geez! Harsh gig!
Turns out that this is the guy that stopped Pauly D from trademarking his name a few years back, since DJ Paulie had already done so and the names were too similar to comply with regulations. Now, DJ Paulie is fighting to keep his name – and for some money to make up for the loss of business. As he lawyer explains:
“Delvecchio has misappropriated my client├óΓé¼Γäós name, has been told by the Feds that the name belongs to my client, but MTV is still using it. We want them to give the little guy a chance and follow the law. My client just wants his name back, he does want compensation but that’s still to be determined. His primary motivation is to get his name back.”
To be honest, we’re actually kind of surprised by this. We would imagine that this would help your business, not hurt. We imagined people would be flocking to your website in droves. Pauly D is arguably one of the most popular cast members. Most people love him! We know we do!
It’s a tough case. We have sympathy for this guy and his livelihood, but really, what’s Pauly supposed to do? Change his name! His momma gave him that! Not so easily parted with!
