American Idol Runner-Up Jessica Sanchez Thinks 'Phillip Deserved To Win'

Such a good sport!
Jessica Sanchez, the 16-year-old American Idol runner-up, isn’t too disappointed that she lost to Phillip Phillips. In fact, she thinks he deserved it and is just relieved that the season is over. After the season finale, she told reporters:

“I’m kind of relieved that this whole thing is over, but I’m also going to miss everybody here. I really think that Phillip deserves to win and I’m so happy for him.”

She admitted backstage that she kind of had a feeling he “was going to win the whole thing” and explained:

“Phillip has everything about him. He has his funny side and his humble side and he’s just an amazing, original artist. I think we all are talented and I think we all are going to have really successful careers.”

On top of that, she recognized that Phillips worked harder than all of his competition! Srsly, the guy was in serious pain throughout the entire season because of kidney stones and Sanchez respects his hard work:

“He has worked harder than all of us. We’ve all been working hard, but he’s been having to deal with his health issues, with his kidneys, and I think he’s been through a lot more than us mentally and physically.”

This is all very humble of you to say, gurl! But don’t forget that you did a fantastic job yourself and it all came down to votes.
You win some, you lose some, but you definitely won over A LOT of fans this year! Congrats on your success and we hope it continues!
