On Thursday night, approximately 30 passengers on a Jet Airways flight from Mumbai to Jaipur, India bled from their ears and noses after the crew “forgot” to flip the switch that maintains cabin pressure during a flight.
This mistake was confirmed by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) deputy director general Lalit Gupta via The Hindustan Times.

According to the BBC, during the flight, oxygen masks were deployed, prompting the airplane to land safely in the city, known formerly as Bombay.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the airline said:
“The B737 aircraft, with 166 guests and 5 crew landed normally in Mumbai. All guests were deplaned safely and taken to the terminal. First aid was administered to few guests who complained of ear pain, bleeding nose, etc.”
Several passengers — including one man who said there was “no staff to help… no announcement on board to wear the oxygen mask. passenger safety completely ignored” — shared videos of the ordeal on social media:

Another traveler told CNN:
“I saw many people having nose bleeds… I took off my oxygen mask for one second and felt so stuffy and hot in the cabin. There was no announcement by the crew and nobody knew what to do.”
The country’s aviation ministry is currently conducting an investigation.
Sadly, this isn’t the first controversy to plague Jet Airways. According to the South China Morning Post, on New Year’s Day, two pilots got into a brawl in the cockpit during a flight from London to Mumbai.
