This is just too adorable!
Jill Scott just scored a cute cover with Ebony magazine’s May issue, and to make her front that much more exciting, her son Jett joined her in the GAWRGEOUS photograph.
While the issue is focused on Black America, the 40-year-old songstress opens up about being a single mom, motherhood and what it takes to raise a young man.
Here are the HIGHlights:
On being a single mother:
“That I-can-do-it-by-myself mentality is a lie. I├óΓé¼Γäóm sorry if I hurt anybody├óΓé¼Γäós feelings, but you cannot do it all by yourself. You need a village: some aunties, grandmoms, friends. I couldn├óΓé¼Γäót do this by myself and would be a fool to think I could.├óΓé¼┬¥
On motherhood:
“Motherhood is getting your hands and your feet in the soil├óΓé¼┬ªWhen Jett puts my face in his hands and tells me, ├óΓé¼╦£Mommy you├óΓé¼Γäóre so pretty├óΓé¼Γäó or smells me, it├óΓé¼Γäós so wonderful.├óΓé¼┬¥
On raising a growing boy:
“It├óΓé¼Γäós challenging being a single mom├óΓé¼┬ªNo matter what I do, I├óΓé¼Γäóll never be a man. Ever. I can show Jett how to be a thinker, how to enjoy music or how to feel, and to conquer. But I cannot show him how to be a man.├óΓé¼┬¥
Jill may not be able to show her son how to become a man, but she can teach him how to grow up into a responsible individual, which at the end of the day is all that matters!
Ch-ch-check out Miz Scott’s cover (above)!
