While on a recent trip to Capitol Hill, Jillian Michaels spoke with Senators Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein about cosponsoring a bill that would ban the slaughter of horses in America.
PETA’s Vice President Dan Mathews was there as well, lending his voice to the issue.
They all retreated to Sen. Boxer’s office to talk more about the bill that would make it illegal to kill horses for their meat but also they discuss the Safeguard American Food Exports (SAFE) Act.
The SAFE Act would keep toxic horse meat from entering our food supply.
Horse meat is often treated with a carcinogenic drug that can cause liver failure in humans.
Who the heck wants to be eating horses anyway?!
We really hope this bill passes!
