Graduation speeches that come from the heart and past experiences are always tear jerkers!
Normally, we’d all expect to get great laughs from someone like Jim Carrey — and he did manage to sneak in a few jokes during his speech!
But when he stood in front of a crowd of graduating students, faculty members, and family members to deliver his commencement speech at the Maharishi University of Management in Iowa, the comedian inspired many, if not all.
The Truman Show actor told a story of his father, who inspired him to become a comedian, which in turn lead to this inspiring message to the graduating class of 2014:
“I learned many great lessons from my father, not the least of which was that you could fail at what you don’t love, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.”

Not only did the HIGHlarious actor deliver a wonderful and inspiring message to the crowd, he also received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts Honoris Caus degree during the ceremony!
