The Orphan actor shared with news anchor Massimo Gilletti that he was invited to a Marina Del Rey hotel by Argento in May 2013, and after his escort left, Argento offered him champagne, pushed him onto the bed, and assaulted him.
“It’s hard for me to talk about this. It all happened very fast.”
Ahead of the interview, Bennett was issued a warning by Asia’s lawyers to avoid any “slanderous, defamatory or untruthful statements.”
The former child star, who was 17 at the time of the alleged assault, shared that he decided against speaking out “in front of an audience” because he was afraid people would think he wasn’t sincere.
And after seemingly being shamed by Gillettti, he explained:
“After this, that’s why I chose the silent route. I was right.”
