There are only so many Mean Tweets on the internet.
Which could be why Jimmy Kimmel is already thinking about the end of his late night career!
The Jimmy Kimmel Live host’s contract with ABC expires in the fall of 2019 — and after that, the comedian revealed his future is still up in the air.

Speaking to Variety, the 49-year-old confirmed he “will do the show for another three years,” but could very well be ending his late night stint soon after, explaining:

“It’s possible that will be it. My wife’s pregnant. At a certain point, I’d like to have a little more free time. I have very little free time as it is.”

With his Oscars hosting gig coming up and that ongoing feud with Matt Damon, we can only imagine how busy he is!
Kimmel — who has been hosting his show since 2003 — explained that a good “indication” of when it’s time to leave is when his bits start to feel stale and recycled.
He continued:

“I want to go out on my own terms. If I ever feel like we’re repeating ourselves, I think it’s a good indication that it’s time. If there’s something that excites me creatively, it doesn’t necessarily mean something in show business.”

As for what creative endeavors the future could bring him, Kimmel mused:

“I like to draw. I like to make sculptures. I’d like to write a book at some point. Doing the show every day doesn’t leave a lot of time for that.”

Sounds like he has quite the retirement planned already!
