There are still so many unanswered questions in the tragic death of Joan Rivers.
While Joan stopped breathing during a routine throat procedure, all questions are now being pointed at Yorkville Endoscopy, where the work was done.
It is reported that Joan initially went in for "a diagnostic procedure [to] see why her voice had gotten raspy." Unfortunately, it sounds like something more than that might have gone down – something not pre-approved by Joan.
Joan had apparently brought another doctor with her to observe what was going on during the procedure, and when the operating doctor found something on her vocal cords, the doctor she brought "asked if he could use their instruments" to perform an unplanned biopsy on the comedienne.
Sadly, this was not something she had reportedly agreed to before going under surgery. Also, it's reported that the outside doctor should not have been allowed to perform a procedure randomly like that at the clinic.
It is believed that during the biopsy Joan suffered the vocal cord contraction laryngospasm, which eventually led to her breathing problem.
Testing is surely still being conducted in this case as the initial autopsy proved inconclusive.
We hate to think this all could have been prevented and Joan could still be with us. We just hope her family and friends get the answers they want.
