First, let’s just start this post off by saying both Joan Smalls and Candice Swanepoel are incredible models, and we hate to see any man come between them and their friendship. No dude, no matter how GOATed he may be, is worth it.
Unfortunately, that very well may be the case here.
You see, Tom Brady may have fumbled a life with Gisele Bündchen, but he’s found hope again in the wings of another Victoria’s Secret angel.
Reported by UsWeekly and confirmed by People magazine, the 7-time Super Bowl champion has been dating Candice Swanepoel “for a while now.”
How long is a while? Sources indicate months.
“They both live in Miami, so it’s very convenient. They’re spending a lot of time together.”
Tom, 49, and Gisele, 46, were married for 13 years and share children Benjamin Rein, 16, and Vivian Lake, 13. Their divorce finalized in 2022, and he’s since carried on rebound flings with notables like model Irina Shayk and influencer Alix Earle. This romance with Candice, though? It feels like the first serious relationship potential for him.
Gisele has of course already moved on. She’s been with jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, 38, for over three years now. They welcomed a baby boy together in February 2023 and married later that year.

Candice, 38, is also a mother. She has two sons with ex Hermann Nicoli, Anacan, 10, and Ariel, 8.
Now, we’ve heard Gisele could care less about Tom getting with Candice, but apparently there’s another supermodel who is bothered by it — Joan Smalls.
A source tells UsWeekly Joan feels “completely blindsided by the whole thing and felt really betrayed” because SHE dated Tom first!
“Joan and Tom were seeing each other on and off for about a year between 2023 and 2024. It was never anything super serious, but they were hooking up for a while and still kept in touch afterward. Candice and Joan had been best friends for years. They basically came up together in the modeling world and through Victoria’s Secret, so they had a really close bond and a long history together.”
It’s not even that Joan misses Tom, the insider suggests, but more so:
“To her, it was just the ultimate breaking of girl code. It wasn’t even necessarily about Tom, but more about the fact that Candice was someone she considered such a close friend. Joan had openly talked to Candice about Tom and had confided in Candice about the relationship.”
Joan has even seemingly confirmed the bad blood, leaving the following comment on a post referencing her and Candice:
“Two words: SUMMER HOUSE ! That’ll explain everything.”
Naturally, fans believe she’s referring to the Amanda Batula, Ciara Wilson, and West Wilson drama. For those unaware, Amanda and Ciara were friends until Amanda got with West despite West having already dated Ciara.
As for Candice, her rep told E! News on Wednesday:
“Candice has always been exceptionally private about her personal life, with her focus remaining on raising her children. She and Joan share a longstanding history and a friendship that Candice will always respect.”
Hmmm….
